Review: New Favourite sketch books - I purchased these sketchbooks after an artist friend reccomended them to me. I have to say I was not dissappointed with these. They are a pack of two lovely A5 sized sketchbooks. I love the fact they have thick kraft paper/card covers with an embossed and white inked label on the front cover. These are beautifully hand made ,hand stitched. They open flat which is great for working in them. The pages are a warm off white colour and has a slight texture and, so far can take most media. The price is great considering this is a pack of two and both have a lot of pages. They have a smart simple elegance in their look.I think these have become my new favourite go to sketchbooks. You can tell these were made by artists, for artists. I love working in them.I will definitley buy more of these in the future. They have a nice weight to them as well. There are countless sketchbooks out there, but these are a little bit special. These would make a great gift too. These are really great sketchbooks, the paper is great to work on,I like the fact they are handmade from recycle materials. They have becme my new favourite sketchbook and the design on the cover which is embossed and printed will de differnt for each order. But the price of these considering it's a pack of two is really good. You will not be dissapointed wirh these. I have also gifted them to other artist friends of mine and they also love them.Hope you enjoy using these as much as I do.Take care, stay sage and be inspired. Matt **Q: Are these suitable for fountain pens?** A: I think it depends on the fountain pen. I used mine for pencil drawing (for which it was perfect), but added lots of notes using a fountain pen with an itallic nib, which felt slightly scratchy. I've just tried with two Lamy Safaris and whilst the one with the medium nib was absolutely fine, the one with the extra fine was again a bit scratchy. In no case did I have any problem with bleed-through. I hope that helps 😀 **Q: Can you buy these without the sketchbook doodle and writing on the front cover?** A: No that is part of the design, but it's only a small design. I usually paint my covers anyway or make a label to put on them. **Q: Would this paper take watercolour if it wasn't too wet?** A: I purchased it for my grandson who loves to draw , but not sure if he has used paints on it, but can say paper isn’t too thin so it’s good quality paper , I’m sure it would be ok to use paints on it , probably not as you say make it too wet ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ New Favourite sketch books *by M***H on 12 January 2021* I purchased these sketchbooks after an artist friend reccomended them to me. They take pencil, pen and paint well. This isn't watercolour paper so it does have limitations when using paint but for sketch work its absolutely fine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It will bleed over with liquid paint *by A***A on 4 July 2025* The product itself is fine, it's just that it can only take pencil and sketches, tried it with acrylic and it would bleed over. So, if it's only take pencil and sketches, there are many other cheaper options available. But talking about the binding and quality, I would say it is average. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/188638965-kraft-cover-notebook-and-sketchbook-set-of-2-blank-plain](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/188638965-kraft-cover-notebook-and-sketchbook-set-of-2-blank-plain) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
