We have had two other water filter systems, purchased at other places. One rusted through and one is on the way to being rusted through at the bottom. I don't think we will have to worry about that problem with this particular water system, since the stainless steel is very thick. Review: great water filter - I am very happy with this water filter. I will say that although it was simple to put together, it came without instructions. I quickly found direction on Youtube (Watens own website provided no directions). My home tap water is deemed safe to drink but doesn't taste good and leaves scale deposits in my kettle. It also is very acidic. With PH test stripes the water is bright yellow out of the tap. After is is run through the Waten filter the PH stripe tested neutral and has a sweet flavor.
