With 38% protein and small 3.5mm pellets, it promotes peak health and vibrant colors while ensuring digestive efficiency with the inclusion of Montmorillonite clay. ## Description Features:VEGGIE DELUXE contains a unique blend of premium grade kelp and spirulina, designed to keep even the strictest herbivores in peak health and color. Also featuring krill, shrimp meal, white fish meal, garlic and un-cooked digestive enzymes, this high energy formula is packed with easily digestible sources of protein essential for growth and vigor of cichlids of all types. With five applications of color enhancing ingredients, the colors are exceptionally vivid and are displayed at an early age. As in all Dainichi foods, there is calcium montmorillonite clay to simulate the natural ingestion of mineral particles and to bind and neutralize metabolic toxins. Raw, fully potent vitamins, digestive enzymes and garlic ensure that the fish are healthy and free of internal parasites. Furthermore, the scouring action of the clay enhances continuous rejuvenation of the digestive tract which when combined with only two sources of starch (flour as binder and wheat germ as a source of vitamin E and B) ensures the maximum rate of digestion and assimilation of nutrients.Ingredients:Kelp, white fish meal, soybean meal, wheat flour, krill, spirulina, shrimp meal, wheat germ, calcium montmorillonite clay, brewer's yeast, powdered milk, vitamin mix, mineral mix, garlic, protease and natural gum.Guaranteed Analysis: Min.crude protein: 38% Min. crude fat: 5% Max. crude fiber: 4% Max. moisture: 9% Max. ash: 12%Usage:Feed your fish only as much as they will eat (immediately) in a few minutes, 2 to 4 times daily. Smaller, more frequent feeding are preferred over a single large one. Do not pre-soak the food prior use! Pre-soaking washes out vitamins, color enhancers, other nutrients, and lowers the performance of the food. All Dainichi foods have a low inclusion of starches to prevent excessive swelling in the digestive tract. Pre-soaking of Dainichi cichlid food is absolutely not required nor beneficial! ## Features - Designed to keep even the strictest of herbivores in peak health and color - This high energy formula is packed with easily digestible sources of protein - Montmorillonite clay promote the highest degree of digestive efficiency, virtually eliminating the occurrence of bloat - Small 3.5mm pellets ## Images ![Dainichi Cichlid - Veggie Deluxe Sinking (1.1 Lb) Bag - Small Pellet - 38% Protein - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81WBRxxoqML.jpg) ![Dainichi Cichlid - Veggie Deluxe Sinking (1.1 Lb) Bag - Small Pellet - 38% Protein - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Xy4JpALVL.jpg) ![Dainichi Cichlid - Veggie Deluxe Sinking (1.1 Lb) Bag - Small Pellet - 38% Protein - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41ERru5y0XL.jpg) ![Dainichi Cichlid - Veggie Deluxe Sinking (1.1 Lb) Bag - Small Pellet - 38% Protein - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31HEaMTdfNL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great food for goldfish too! *by K***. on Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2018* My goldfish (yes... I said goldfish!) LOVE these Dainichi products and all are doing extremely well on them. Even my couple of fish who tend to be floaty do very well, especially on this vegetarian formula. I love the fact that the sinking pellets actually do SINK as they hit the water which makes them very useful in automatic feeders. This is quite unlike other premium brands whose β€œsinking” pellets tend to float around for several seconds... or MINUTES even, allowing the food to float off somewhere and finally sink in areas that may be inaccessible to the fish. Even worse for goldfish, it encourages the fish to go up to the surface looking for food, which is absolutely NOT what we want, especially in floaty goldfish with balance issues. No β€œsinking” product I’ve tried from Dainichi ever does this. The color and body condition of my fish are great. They are lean, healthy and growing well. What more could anyone ask for? I feed this product along with the Cichlid Veggie FX, Goldfish Color Max and Goldfish Ultra, all sinking pellets. These comprise a major part of my regular rotation and I have been well pleased with them. One note: the size β€œsmall” pellets are ~3.5mm. My fish are large enough to handle them, but if you have very small fish, you might want to go with the β€œbaby” size pellets (or throw them in a spice grinder and give them a quick pulse to reduce them). All told, these are great products! I recommend them to everyone and always mention Dainichi on my fish discussion groups whenever someone asks for a food recommendation. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very good price for the 1.1lb bag!!! Can't beat. *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2014* I've been buying this food at my local fish shop for around $25.99, though that was for the 8oz bag. Very hard to beat this price for the quality of food and quantity that you are receiving as well. I like this food very much, it keeps my mixed cichlid aquarium and plecos very happy. Definitely recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great food for your cichlid *by H***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2013* This is a great food for your cichlid. I have tropheus moori and hap moor. They love the food and their coloration is intense. Only thing I suggest is buying the baby sinking, it is a smaller diameter pellet and gives all your cichlids a change to get some food. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/18656392-dainichi-cichlid-veggie-deluxe-sinking-1-1-lb-bag-small](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/18656392-dainichi-cichlid-veggie-deluxe-sinking-1-1-lb-bag-small) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
