I envisioned that they would be comfortable for a month or two and then lose their elasticity. I was wrong. I now buy these laces exclusively for all my shoes. I seriously love them. I spend time with new shoes to get the tension just right so that I can slide my shoes on and off without loosening the laces, but tight enough that the shoes kind of snap on to my feet with a secure hold. They do this excellently. They stretch under pressure when moving feet at weird angles or high strength motions, or when feet are swollen, but stay snug and relaxed when just casually wearing them. It is hard for me to explain accurately how well these work when you first take the time. I imagine they would be superior for diabetics, runners, obese, wide or large feet, factory workers, etc. I can not imagine myself ever going back to regular laces, and I have yet to have a single one of these fail over years of use.
