## Description

Wera Kraftform handles features a large contact zone that provides a large amount of friction with the soft zones. Integrated soft zones in handle bulge, transfer high tightening/loosening forces without losing contact with screws. Precision zone at blade provides better feel for rotational angle during fine adjustment work. Anti-roll protection stops screwdrivers from rolling away at the workplace. Review: Here's the Details - It got this Wera Kraftform 817R to try, as I reduce my collection of random old screwdrivers and transition more to drivers that accept interchangeable bits instead. The bit holders get most of the use lately and just make more sense overall for most tasks that I do. This feels like a quality tool. It's a simple bit-holding driver / screwdriver. The grip feels small, even though the length of the handle isn't crazy short. The tapering and contours make it feel smaller than it is. That's about my only gripe. I wish the handle was 1.5x to 2x bigger/fatter, but still kept the shape.. but then perhaps it wouldn't be as portable. The handle is a hard black plastic, with the green being a softer rubber material. Feels good, but a little fatter would be better. It arrived loose in a bag with a tag on it. No signs of use. You push down the green collar and the bit shaft is spring loaded and shoots out. After I did that initially, I thought it was stuck out and broken for a few minutes. You really have to push the green collar on the handle down very hard until it clicks, to manually retract the shaft back in. When extended, you can click down the handle collar again and pull the shaft right out if you want to use the end for an impact driver... but I don't see myself ever doing that. The bit holder end has a weak magnet to hold the bit initially, and not so strong that it interferes with disengagement. That holds the bit initially, then you pull back on the bit holder tip and it locks the bit in solid. To remove the bit, you push the end of the bit holder forward, and it unlocks, and you can now pop your bit off the magnet easily. Otherwise, it locks in solid. There is a little side play in the shaft, a tiny wiggle, but it's minimal and nothing annoying. There's no real play in rotation. It functions like a regular screwdriver. it accepts the regular 1/4th inch bits, I have laying around, well. I included the comparison pick so you can get a feel for the size and shape. There it is, next to an old school Vaco Bulldriver, A Klein #? In One, and my trusty old cheap generic ratcheting bit driver. All of these fill out the hand a little better. Fatten this guy up Wera! The Wera 817R does feel more precise, if that makes sense. If you are looking for a multi-purpose, compact bit holding screwdriver, this one fits the description. It's compact, so ideal for traveling around with and carrying in a small bag or tool pouch on the go. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
Review: Lost my first one, Had to replace this….it is that good - I use this daily in HVAC. This is a very good and quality product. The price is very fair. I recommend it….

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome
*by C***T on June 12, 2025*

I love this thing. It’s perfect for using with 6” and 2” bits for being able to keep it fairly compact and longer when you need it. The bit holder part feels a little cheap but no issues with it yet.
