I charged it before we left and only had to charge it 1 more time while being at the campsite. The kids went on a night time hike with their teachers and my son took the second picture. The kids were allowed to bring either flashlights or headlamps and with this lamp, my son was made the leader because this light was so bright. I would even have the kids use this lamp when they would have to go to the bathroom at night. I took the first picture. While there was some light from the campsite, I was able to really see the tops of the trees really good. On one of my trips to the restroom, I was able to see some of the owls that lived in the trees around the campsite. The brightness on this is fully adjustable and with just 1 charge, it lasted for about 3 days, almost 4. The straps are easily adjustable and even while wearing, it never slid down.
