I was even happy to see that Agfa was still alive and kicking. It really is a very good quality product. Given the fact that it was only $4.99 with free shipping, who am I to complain? My only concern with rubber is that it is not 100% rubber. I believe there is also some neoprene and other chemicals involved in the manufacturing process. I do spend a lot of time in the Las Vegas area, primarily in the desert. I like landscape, wildlife and plant life photography. My point is, this rubber does have a tendency to dry out and eventually crack. My solution? I use a little of my wife's moisturizing lotion to prevent that from happening. As far as leaving the hood on my camera when not in use, I just unscrew it and place back into the original box and in the bag it goes.Again, a very good product. I hope this helps. I used them for all my lens back then - from wide angle to telephoto zooms and prime lenses. Never had a problem with them. They will not last as long as a plastic hood because the rubber - over the years - will age and deform. They will also deform if left squeezed in a wrong position for a long length of time. But rubber hoods are cheap enough to simply replace in a few years. (I only noticed age affecting my hoods after many years so it's not a huge concern.)I bought this 52mm hood for my new  Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens  because I was concerned the plastic bayonet-type hood might ultimately wear or damage this light lens - at least I was concerned it had the potential to. So I decided to opt for a screw-in type rubber hood because it would afford greater protection as well as being easier to leave on.Now to specifics: this is a screw-on type hood. It has a plastic ring - like a filter - except with a collapsible rubber hood attached. The filter size of your lens is the size hood you need. You simply screw the hood onto the lens exactly as you would a filter. This hood also has another set of threads on the outside so you may screw on additional filters. You may mount it directly on the lens itself - or on a filter you may have on protecting the lens. [Note: SOME screw in rubber lens hoods do NOT have exterior threads - this AGFA does.]I had no problems at all screwing the hood onto the lens and filter - it fit nice and snug with no gaps whatsoever. I also had no problems screwing a filter onto the hood - although you should collapse the hood to its retracted position for an easier time.The rubber hood itself 'folds' - actually a better word is collapses or pops up - into three positions. Fully collapsed for storage or wide angle. A middle position for normal standard. Then fully 'popped out' for telephoto. The rubber affords excellent protection if you accidentally bang the lens against something.This type of rubber hood is excellent for lenses that do not have a bayonet mounting or lenses you'd prefer not to twist a stiff plastic bayonet-type hood on. I also ordered another AGFA rubber hood in 58mm size for my classic  Canon Ef 70-210mm F/4.0 I highly recommend the AGFA brand rubber hood. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality hood, not ideal for Panasonic FZ200 *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2014* I bought this hood for a Panasonic Lumix FZ200. I had a similar hood for my old FZ20 and I could just leave it on all the time. I cannot do that with this hood as when the camera is set to 1x zoom, the hood blocks part of the picture. The hood seems to be of good quality, otherwise. There was no problem screwing it onto the camera. It has three positions as advertised and the rubber is fairly thick. It's just that even pulled all the way back, it interferes with picture taking until I get out to about 1.6x zoom.
