## Description

The Star Adventurer Latitude (EQ) Base provides a smooth and reliable way to polar align your mount. With internal gearing the Latitude Base makes aligning to the north celestial pole easy and repeatable. The Latitude Base features a V-style dovetail system and mounting block. The mounting block threads on the Star Adventurer and allows you to quickly mount or dismount your Star Adventurer to the Latitude Base. The Base also features latitude degree markers to easily adjust the Star Adventurer to the correct placement. Underneath the Base is a 3/8 thread which can mount to many of todays popular photo tripods.

**Q: Is this wedge compatible with the skywatcher az-gti mount?**
A: Not without replacing the saddle locking screw. The screw it too wide which causes the AZGTi Mount to hit it.

**Q: Isn't this supposed to include a dovetail plate?  My package did not include one.**
A: Mine had a dovetail plate included.  It measures about 2 3/4 x 1 3/8 inch and has a 3/8 inch tripod screw (will work with AZ-GTI).  If you are getting this for AZ_GTI to use in EQ mode, you will also need to replace the know that holds on the dovetail as the handle is too big.  I recommend going to Home Depot and buying an M8 socket hex cap screw, (M8 (1.25) x 14mm long).

A: It can mount to a standard tripod or ball head that has the 1/4-20 threads (non arca swiss). This product is almost required to help with setting polar alignment based on your current longitude.
