Review: Silent Power in a Small Package - Silent Power in a Small Package I installed the ARCTIC P8 80mm case fan in a compact PC build, and it quickly impressed me. Despite its small size, the airflow is powerful and steady, which helps keep temperatures down in tighter enclosures. The fan is pressure-optimized, so it works especially well when mounted against dense components like heatsinks or radiators. The biggest standout is how quiet it runs—even at higher RPMs. At 3000 RPM, I expected some whine, but the motor is surprisingly smooth and doesn’t create distracting noise. For office or bedroom PCs, this is a great choice if you want cooling without the hum. Installation was straightforward—the fan feels solid, the screw holes aligned easily, and the wiring is standard. One thing to keep in mind: it’s a 3-pin connector, so you won’t get PWM control. That means it runs full speed unless you manage it through voltage control or a fan controller. Bottom line: This is a compact, well-built fan that delivers excellent airflow with whisper-quiet operation. Perfect for anyone needing reliable cooling in a small form factor build.
Review: Amazing case fan! - I’ve been using the ARCTIC P8 80 mm case fan in my PC build for a while now, and it’s quickly become one of those components that truly make a difference. Right from installation, it was clear that this fan is built with thoughtful design and quality in mind. It does a great job maintaining airflow through tighter spaces like heatsinks, radiators, and crowded case areas. It never gets noisy or distracting. That balance between airflow and noise is hard to achieve in small fans, and ARCTIC managed it well here. Build quality is also solid. The materials feel durable, and the fan blades are sturdy.

## Features

- OPTIMISED FOR STATIC PRESSURE: The fan guarantees extremely efficient cooling, even with increased air resistance, therefore, the P8 is particularly suitable for use on heatsinks and radiators
- HIGH QUALITY BEARING: Thanks to an alloy/lubricant combination developed in Germany, friction within the bearing is reduced and greater efficiency is achieved
- LONG SERVICE LIFE: The Fluid Dynamic Bearing comes with an oil capsule that avoids lubricant leakage, thus this bearing is as quiet as a sleeve bearing but comes with a higher service life
- REDESIGNED FAN BLADES: The P8 fan features completely redesigned fan blades and is optimised for high static pressure
- TECHNICAL DATA: Fan speed: 3000 RPM, Airflow: 23.4 CFM/39.76 m³/h (@ 3000 RPM), Noise Level: 0.3 Sone (@ 3000 RPM), Pin: 3-pin

## Questions & Answers

**Q: anyones know how to mount those thing ? The screw I receive doesn't fit in the hole.**
A: The screws are self-tapping and just the right size so that you create the threading when you drive them in for the first time. Just line up the screw with the hole on the fan and start turning them straight in with a screwdriver. It will chew out a spiral, screw-shaped piece of plastic when that happens, and that's how the self-tapping works. Be careful not to overtighten the screws as you will ultimately strip the threading you've created!

**Q: Do these fans come with 3-pin to molex adapters?**
A: No, it only comes with the 3 pin motherboard connectors, you will have to buy the adapters seperate

**Q: To run these fans outside of a computer application, what kind of ac to dc converter would be needed to run all five fans? also, how control speed?**
A: Well a couple of things will be required, to power them up you will need an AC to DC 12v & 5v 4 pin molex 2A adaptor and secondly a fan controller with the number of channels required for the aaplication

**Q: how do you set or can you set the temperature?**
A: This is a fan. It provides feedback to the motherboard and its speed can be controlled by the motherboard. Anything having to do with temperature is the responsibility of the motherboard and the firmware controlling it. The fan has no way to automatically adjust based on temperature.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked well in my projector.
*by C***R on January 3, 2025*

Removed the old fan in my projector as it was very loud and annoying while playing media. I had to solder the old fan wires on to a jumper that would plug into this fan's connector. This was not difficult for me to do. I had tried a few other fan's from nocturnal, coolerguys, and some quiet brand. None were powerful enough to keep the projector out of heat overload besides this fan. Works great. Maybe not the most quiet, but is much quieter than the old stock fan and for a cheaper price than nocturnal and more premium brands.
