I use mine mostly dry under a bicycle helmet to block the sun, but when it's really hot outside I wet it. If it's not rung out some, water runs down out of the cap, which isn't bad when HOT. Or ring out enough so it doesn't, you'll learn what you like/need. I have several now, even one with a flap at the back to protect my neck from the sun when mowing. Wish I had these years ago!
