Review: which is better for carrying on roofs - The original straight line was a hard plastic, this would be a problem as the corners would chip eventually....this product is a flexible plastic and will probably not break in the same manner. The hard plastic style lasted me over 5 years! So this style just takes getting used to, but I have no idea how long they might last.....I bought two, and I cut mine in half to use. This allows me to draw on a mini-clipboard, which is better for carrying on roofs, etc. If you use a .05 mechanical pencil, your lines are perfect, and rarely will the pencil leave the straight line......Great Product! I diagram homes and roofs daily, and wouldn't leave for an inspection without it. Everyone is always impressed at the quality of my hand drawings. Great product!

I use 1 on the reference photo itself and with a light box the other underneath my drawing page. I found my original set so I didn’t need these but they work great and have lasted me a long time. The original straight line was a hard plastic, this would be a problem as the corners would chip eventually....this product is a flexible plastic and will probably not break in the same manner. The hard plastic style lasted me over 5 years! So this style just takes getting used to, but I have no idea how long they might last.....I bought two, and I cut mine in half to use.
