## Description

Camco’s 2000W/120V Screw-In, High Watt Density Water Heater Element can be used in most replacement situations of the same wattage and voltage. High watt density (HWD) elements are the most common and the same type of element provided with most water heaters. This element features a 1-11 ½-inch NPSM steel bushing with copper sheath. Includes a gasket. Minimum tank diameter is 9-inches. It is compatible with most models of American, AO Smith, Bradford White, Craftmaster (prior to 1991), GE, GS Wood (certain models), Kenmore, Lochinvar, Maytag, Mor-Flo, Reliance, Rheem, Richmond, Rudd, Sears, State, Whirlpool, and all water heaters manufactured after 1994. Never exceed the nameplate rating on the water heater. UL listed for US and Canada. Includes a 5-year limited warranty.

Review: Works great - I wasn't sure what was going to happen since it's almost double the wattage of the one I pulled out of there but it's working fine and keep some water nice and hot. Combine it with a new thermostat so I don't get scolded anymore either. Probably saving a couple dollars that way too

**Q: What thread size do these use?**
A: It is 1" NPS.   

Not NPT

As stated by others, NPT or National Pipe Thread is tapered. NPS is National Pipe Straight, or in other words, not tapered. 

If we are talking about 1", both have 11.5 threads per inch, and can work together in some cases.

**Q: wanna you for my HLT. Does this rust?**
A: Outside is crome plated it will oxidize and collect mineral deposits the tube is copper. It will not "rust" but it will oxidize.

**Q: what is the heating element material?**
A: If your are concerned about heavy rust on the inside of your water heater walls or boiler or what you are using it for, DO NOT BUY.  The heating elements from Camco will rust after very first time of use.  Instead take a look at the elements being offered by "Brewhardware.com" or "Southern Boy Stills.com".Best regards.Emmett
