Please ensure that the total rating of the devices plugged into the extension socket doesn’t exceed either 10A or the rating of the IEC socket being used on the UPS / IEC distribution board. It solves the problem of connecting devices to multiple rack mounted devices which often only have a standard IEC socket on them. This can often be an issue when installing the various IT hardware into a rack cabinet. Examples of this would be connecting up a laptop, router or PoE injector. The 1m length is ideal in this situation - long enough to reach but not so long that you have a lot of excess cable to cable tie and make neat.
