Use something like a hairdryer or a heatgun and pull it slowly while heating the area right in front of where you’re pulling. If you take your time you can avoid damaging your door. **Q: My exterior door opens IN and there is carpet on the landing. Will this work or will it get hung up?** A: You determine what level you attach the draft stopper at so it won’t get hung up. Just make sure you put it at appropriate height. My door opens in over hard wood floors, but I have a rug there and I am fine. **Q: Will it scratch my floor?** A: No. When you apply it make sure you clear the floor. If not it will rub against the floor and weaken the seal over time. **Q: For patio dog sliding door inserts on your apartment sliding door does this go on the outside? Is it just on the patio sliding door or the entire?** A: I placed mine on the bottom of the inner side of the kitchen door (kitchen to garage). It works very well. It seems to work as expected. I believe the real test will be to see how well the adhesive holds up over time. The strip is a rather soft rubber so it does have some good flex (I was sort of expecting a stiff long and solid strip, but it's not and comes 2 rolled together in a box with some pins that can be used to fasten them to a wooden door.
