FRYE Women's Phillip Chelsea Boot

LOVE these boots. I was on the hunt for a classic Chelsea boot and these are just about perfect. Great price, great quality, and the exact look I was going for. You know how you buy a pair of shoes or boots and then struggle to wear them? They might only look good with bootleg or skinnies or skirts? Well, these boots have worked with everything. Skinnies, bootleg, tights/skirt, leggings...they're perfect. I own two other pair of Fryes and find that they run a touch small...so I ordered these a half size bigger. Added a basic insole for extra cushioning and they fit perfect. No breaking in and no rubbing.Giving four out of five stars because of the sole. There is NO traction there. It is slick with a capital S and I'm clumsy with a capital C...so this could be messy. Probably will be messy. And definitely means no wearing these boots if there's even a chance of snow or ice. If there were just a touch of rubber sole with traction, these would be the perfect Chelsea boots.

These boots are beautiful and will last for ages. Couple of caveats: a) the toebox is not very tall, so if your arches are high or you like wiggling your toes, or both, they're not the most comfortable at first (although Fryes always stretch a bit, so it'll be fine in time). b) the first pair I received was missing a piece, so I had to exchange them, which was a bit annoying. Overall very happy with this purchase.

I really wanted to like these boots, especially if I was going to spend $150 and from a trusted brand like frye, I was like yeah of course this will be worth the money.I tried breaking these in gently, with light walking and I can confidently say I've accumulated about 5-6 miles of walking on them so far and as sturdy as they are, they squish my toesssssss. Theyre super snug and if I wear them for too long, I feel like my toe box is getting crushed. Super sad this isn't made with a softer leather with at least a little bit of stretch room...I guess I'll only wear these if I;m out for 20 minutes at a time.

My usual size in US brands is 7.5 and 8 in European (esp. Italian made). I ordered these in 7.5- Whiskey colour- and found they fit just right with dress socks/tights; a little snug in the toe at first, but had no problems once I began walking- no toe rub- and they stretch a bit with time. I pretty much stick to Frye for most of my boot purchases as they are durable, quality leather, and last for years. I always weather treat prior to wearing as a side note in cases of getting caught in rain or snow. I've attached a photo after wearing for a few weeks in harsh conditions (rocky ground)- the colour quality is beautiful.

Beautiful and well made boots. Weird slick coating added to bottom of boots. I own a few varieties of Frye boots and these were much narrower (even for my extremely narrow foot) and shorter than others. They fit snug to the foot except the top lip that gapes out. Overall these were not going to work.

These shoes are top quality and go with everything. I ordered half size up according to reviews and actually think an 8 would fit even better but I was afraid they would look too big.

These are so cute. They were really difficult to get on at first, but the leather is supple that they quickly lost that stiff feeling. This is my second pair of Frye boots, and I am in love. These are a little more heavy duty than some boots that I've owned, so I don't think they'll look great with skirts.

For the quality Frye advertises, these shoes seemed cheap and flimsy. I returned them, as they were not very comfortable or sturdy.
