I was misdiagnosed so many times and doctors just kept prescribing me antibiotics and penicillin pills. I was told the only way for me to get better was to have surgery. Then, I found this book mentioned on a Facebook group and decided to check it out. I am so glad I did! This book has a lot of helpful information to those suffering from this condition, and I feel I have learned so much! It gave me hope. I had no idea food could be related to HS until I read it here. I decided to start the AIP diet and see if food was the cause for my HS; that's how I found out certain foods trigger it.Sure, you can do the research on your own but this book has everything you can possibly need and you won't have to browse websites for the information. Before buying it, I decided to research on my own but most of the websites I visited said the same general thing. This book has helpful information about supplements to take and why leaky gut should be connected to HS. It also has several recipes! It's a lot of useful information for those of us who have this condition, all in one book. I know of a lot of people who have bashed this book and haven't even read it! So my recommendation is that if you want to get better, read it! Fantastic! More than 5 Star information in this book. If you are dealing with the horrible Hidradenitis Suppurativa disease then you N E E D to read this book. There is so much information in this book you will need to have a highlighter handy. I learned more about how my body works from this book than I ever did in school. Or maybe its just because I am older and care more these days. ;) This book teaches you how exactly to go into remission. Since there is no cure, remission is the next best thing. Being a sufferer myself, I'm sick of it to tell you the truth. I'm making baby steps and already see an improvement. I know if I eliminated more bad foods I would see better results but at this time with the ages of my children its hard so I decided to do it gradually. I have corresponded with the author a few times & she was very fast with her response. I give her kudos for taking the time (years) to write this book. I have an HS survivors website and it gets depressing sometimes researching day after day without seeing any good 'medical' advancements. Long story short.....get the book!
