From here, I think the the book has a variety of options and choices for all budgets, plus a lot of very useful information for a first-time traveler to Turkey. My chief complaint is the book's weight. I am tempted to take a razor to it and take only the first half, the half that is of interest to me; although there is section in the back that has helpful information like phrases, info on getting around by bus, taxi, car, ferry, etc., women traveling alone (my situation), and more. It may not be comprehensive on any one area, but let's face it, Turkey is a BIG country. You wouldn't expect a travel guide on the US to have everything in it, either. So, I'll have at least one other book (solely on Istanbul) with me, good maps, and I've already made some very friendly contacts over there through the site Couchsurfing.
