That's not true for the ones I received so I think they got sent the wrong pans or something like that. My stove has approximately 8.5" and 6.5" holes and these fit perfectly like I hoped based on the similar listed measurements. The pans our landlord had in the stove were so cheap that they corroded out until they were mostly holes. I wanted new ones forever but procrastinated because nothing seemed like it would fit. The pans available locally cost more than these but weren't as nice, and were for a different type of stove. We have a Hotpoint, it seems like pans for other brands are easier to find. I wasn't sure these would fit either because they look different than the ones we had. But they're great, they look so much better and they're way heavier.
