In fact, just the opposite: they consistently produce outstanding results. With five Vermont winters on the car, we needed something more than an orange pad this time. The HDO blue heavy polishing pad was exactly what was needed: adequate 'cutting' performance to remove light scratches and yet also leave a glossy finish. Perfect. I included a photo of the pad after use, rinsed and ready to be used again. We do use the CSS pads for final finishing with paint sealant. Very pleased with that line of pads as well. [As an aside: don't be overly concerned with the word "compound" in Griot's complete compound product, it works just fine on clearcoat finishes.
