Review: Plug and play - The shipper brought out the new air-conditioner in about half the time we expected. Good thing, because Iowa summers can get hot and our Winnebego View was getting uncomfortable during the day. The trucker did a great job backing his semi down a narrow country lane and leaving the box just a few feet from the RV. My wife and daughter-in-law helped me lift the unit unto a dry-wall hoist. I could winch the dry-wall platform level with the roof and slide the unit on a rug over to the center of the RV. It was a good thing that I had watched a number of YouTube videos about how to make the swap because the printed manual that came with the unit was no use at all. The manual had about half the pages missing and stapled in backwards and upside down. It took a while to remove the old unit and clean up the roof. The old unit had leaked compressor oil all over the place but fortunately not into the RV. The old unit had also chaffed the roof a little so I touched that up with spray paint. My View has a strong fiberglass roof but I made sure I moved the units around on pieces of carpet. Yes the inside metal brackets have very sharp edges as I found out when I nicked one of my fingers. The cables were plug and play. Yes, make sure the power is off to the circuit before doing this. The manual didn't tell me where the thermal sensor had to got on the inside vanes so I just put it the same spot that it was in the old unit. I didn't trust that it would stay there just plugged in like that, so I added a drop of contact adhesive on connector to help keep it there. At the end of the day my son came home from work and helped me get the old unit off the roof which was a reverse of what it took to get the new unit up there. That evening was cool enough that we didn't need the cooling and I wanted the oil to settle before trying it out. The next day we started using it and it does a great job. The 13,500 BTU is sized just about right for our Class C View. Yesterday it got close to 100F on a high humidity day. On a day like that you can hear the corn in the nearby field growing. Even on a hot day, the unit keeps the inside of the RV comfortable. Today has been extra humid so the condensate is steadily dripping off the roof. We just run the fan side constantly on its lower setting. We don't hear the compressor cutting in or out. I'm not saying that everyone should swap out their own air-conditioners, but if you are doing most of the repairs on your RV anyway, this totally doable. Our previous unit lasted 10 years and hope the new one will do as well.
Review: Excellent! Works great!!!! - Wonderful 2 day delivery! Easy to install! Saved me $3,500.00. I had 2 estimates to replace my air conditioner on my 2016 Jayco Greyhawk after it stopped working. Bought this unit and received it in 2 days and fit perfectly! My 2 estimates were 4000 to 5000 from to repair facilities. I bought this for $810.00. It took only 1 hour to install! Works great! Now I have cold air again! Thank you Coleman!!!! Great price and simple repair. The only issue is getting it on your roof of the rv. You would normally need 2 people to do so. Weighs about 75 lbs. I made a pulley system and it worked great! It's not loud like some people say. It's normal for an rv air conditioner!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: my old unit is a coleman model#7633A8964 ducted do I have to buy a new ceiling assssemby and a new therostat or will my old one work**
A: We just installed our new unit, just plugged into old ceiling assembly and used our old thermostat. Turn on to check that it works, but don't leave it on. We found out that it needs to settle before leaving it on for a long time.

**Q: I have no idea what my old unit is on my 04 Springdale. The opening is 14” and it is ducted. Will this work with my existing set up?**
A: If it is a Coleman AC only unit then yes. If another brand (Dometic, Carrier, Advent) you will need other items as well.

**Q: I currently have an energy efficient 48208c966 is this Unit the same?**
A: Yes

**Q: Do you have to order the control board separately**
A: If you have an existing Mach 3 system then you just use your old grill and control box. Providing they are functional.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Old technology, just as noisy, but reliable.
*by B***A on March 24, 2026*

I give it five stars because it does exactly what it is supposed to. It is the basic unit, it does not have the thermostat interconnect set. This is why it is $150 to $100 cheaper. I reused the interconnect set. The plastic housing is softer thermoplastic. This does make it easier to take apart, but it feels flimsy. As the technology is identical to the 25-year-old unit I am replacing, the noise level is nearly identical as the old unit. It works. It will probably outlast the trailer. The thing is heavy. I paid three men to lift it to the roof in the box. Slid it around from there. It was a case of beer well spent.
