They are a good starter emergency kit for a car or a single person. We use these as prizes when we give emergency preparedness presentation to community organizations. In general, I've found the quality of what's included in these kits very good -- although, of course, these are not the only thing you should do for emergency preparedness. If you're looking for a kit to toss in the trunk or back of the car for dire emergencies, these are pretty good addition to your emergency supplies.However, make sure to check the expiration dates on the kits you buy. The contents in these kits have several items which have a listed 5 year shelf life (the food bars, the water, and the emergency chem light). Some sellers forget to check, and may send you a kit quite out of date (I got one from an Amazon seller that was more than 3 years over the "Use by" date, indicating it had been produced and in storage for approximately 8 years! Still sealed and in very good shape though...) It's a good policy to roll these kits over every 3-5 years, replacing them with new ones.
