HOW to pass the strip light through the silicone led channel tube? 1. Lay the tube flat and straight, no knots or twists; 2.Tie up suitable width (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) LED strip with the tiny rope at one end of the tube; 3.One person fix the tube end with strip and push on the strip slowly, one person pull the tiny rope at the other end of the tube to lead the strip through. Plan your approach. - Quite frustrating, but with planning and a bit of time was able to get a full 5 meter led strip fed through without issue. Lay both the led and channel out flat on the floor, I snipped the corners off of the leading edge of the led strip so that they were more pointed versus the typical flat edge. The string pulled too tight at times and deformed the led strip but was able to back it out and try again. If doing again, I would likely solder wires to the end of the strip and use them plus a rope to pull through. Maybe even consider using some form of lubricant to make the slide easier. Would buy again. Review: Fragile - These are kind of ridiculous. I expected them to be open so I could just slip my lights in the tube but they are just a rectangular tube that is only open on the ends. There is a string inside, I guess to either pull your lights through (I couldn't even pull the string through let alone the lights) or to cut the side of the tube. I tried cut the tube and that was not a good idea. It worked for a foot or so then it cut through the lens portion. From then, I used scissors to cut the side open so i could slip the strip lights in. That worked but here is the next snag. The amount of hardware was not enough. I had to scrounge around my house to find about as many screws as they sent me. At least they sent enough of the mounting pieces. Overall, I mostly like the look. I was hoping the mounting pieces would be made out of plastic but they are made out of the same material as the tube (silicone rubber). Due to this, i had to use both mounting screws because the rubber mounting pieces are very delicate. Now the strips have a gap between the trim piece of my banister instead of being right under it. Not too big of a deal. We had 71" segments. We were successful in carefully getting the light strip through the channel for 5-6 feet then it would get stuck. We had to cut through from the back to make it work. Also, although this is a reflection on our project not the product, we had a hard time finding a way to attach the channel to tires. Silicone glue did not work.
