If you need the tattoo to last more than one day place it on bare skin. But in my experience they can be carefully placed over makeup with somewhat mixed results. I have found that water-based makeup such as "face paint" seems to work best. The water from applying the tattoo may make the makeup run a bit, but it can be touched up if necessary after the tattoos are in place. The tattoos may not stick as well to oil based makeup, but oil based makeup will not run from the water used to apply the tattoo. I have mainly had difficulty with very small or thin tattoo pieces not sticking very well to oil based makeup. I recommend you experiment with the intended makeup and a small tattoo before the event you want to wear them for. As with any temporary tattoo application, don't rush! Make sure the tattoo backing paper is thoroughly saturated with water until it will "slide" off - don't try to "peel" it off. Get a wash cloth or a bounty paper towel and wet it enough that it doesn't drip (keep it moist). #2. Wash area (face) where you will place tattoos. Then dry area well. Tattoos do not stick to a wet area. #3. Cut out the tattoos you will be using. #4. Remove clear plastic coating and apply tattoo where desired and press with the wet wash cloth or paper towel for minimum 30 seconds on top the tattoo with the paper on it. The wet cloth/paper towel will moisten the tattoo and release it from the sticky paper onto your skin. When sticky paper is removed & the tattoo is on your skin, just dab the wet cloth/paper towel directly on tattoo to make sure it stuck to your skin. #5. It says to use baby oil or rubbing alcohol.
