They would be perfect for ANY age, though, from tween up to adult. I had trouble deciding which pens to buy here on Amazon, due to such a wide range of choices, but when I saw the absolutely gorgeouscylindrical box that these pens come in, I was beyond delighted with my choice. Not only is it a sturdy storage box, but it's just so darn pretty, with a wonderful Maya Angelou quote written on the bottom of the box- it will be a nice surprise for you to discover this, when your own brushes arrive! All brush pens work perfectly. However, in the future, I would like to see a new set of the same brushes but with more than 50 with a wider selection of colors related to skin. If you are proficient in blending with water, then I don't think this will be a problem, because there are light orange colors, but the lightest one was too saturated, so using water should dilute that ink. Anyway, coming from digital painting, I realized that 48 pens were not enough to have all the colors I needed to create the "perfect" artwork. I am happy to be supporting Daco now, because of the small distance between them and us, the artists. I had given feedback about the brush pens not having a wider selection for skin tones, and they responded with such kindness. I truly believe that Daco was created to support artists. I apply details to rocks that have first been prepared with acrylic paint. These water color markers are easy to use and vibrant. They dry quickly and hold up to spray sealants like Lamar Varnish and Clear Acrylic.I had a problem with one marker that leaked onto the cloth storage bag and cardboard container upon arrival. I contacted the customer support of the company by email and received a reply very quickly. They replaced the item free of charge within the week!
