Problem: my puppy loves to eat the red tabs. Plus: It was my wife's favorite color. Note: Fabric softener causes cotton to repel water. I substitute liquid fabric softener with a liquid water softening agent. I also add 20 mule team borax in with the wash cycle. Another thing to note: Damp cotton tends to grow mold quickly. Change the cloth out daily and sometimes twice daily. Keep a large stock on hand.
