## Description

Ipe Seal from DeckWise is a wax emulsion sealer proven to increase the structural integrity of hardwood decking. Designed to prevent end checking (drying splits) in freshly sawn logs, lumber, turning blanks, and other exposed wood end and face grain. Ipe Seal creates a bond that extends the life of each deck board. One quart of end sealer covers approximately 500 square feet of decking. The sooner our sealer is applied to exposed end grain (and face grain of turnings and carvings), the more effective the coating will be. Application is recommended to the wood within 24 hours of cutting. Our End Sealer may cause color or shading changes in wood, depending on species, dryness, handling or other natural variables. Test on ends of sample piece(s) and let stand for 48 hours if this possibility is of concern. See label for specific cautionary first aid instructions. This is a non-hazardous wax emulsion Treat it with the same respect as paint DO NOT drink DO NOT breathe the liquid AVOID contact with eyes

Review: Easy to Use - I want to first say that the seller of this item was great at sending a replacement after the first shipment was damaged by the carrier. The seller responded in less than a day to get a replacement to me. The sealer itself was easy to use and cured from a milky liquid to a semi-opaque waxy finish after absorption. This is purely a waxy sealer to keep your end cuts from drying out and cracking. It’s not for surfaces that will see foot traffic (waxy = slippery). Clean up was super easy, just warm water and soap and all my tools were cleaned. Only time will tell if my end cuts will not crack; with product absorption seen on the first application, I could only assume it’ll do the job perfectly. Definitely recommend.

I want to first say that the seller of this item was great at sending a replacement after the first shipment was damaged by the carrier. Easy to apply and it works. As evidenced by my having missed the ends of two boards when I installed them last week, and after just one rain -> sun cycle the ends of those two boards are already showing a few small cracks while all the rest show nothing.
