Medela says monthly. But, it really depends on how rough you are on them when you wash them, if you use a bottle brush on them at least once a day yes, I would say you probably will rip one before the month is out. However, I was putting soap on my pinky and being very gentle while washing. However, I had noticed over time that I was collecting less milk. I attributed this to me having a cold and my baby getting older. After replacing the membranes and trimming the ends of my tubing (where it connects to the pump) I didn't have to take the fenugreek and blessed thistle anymore to increase my supply. This product is exactly as described. It is the original replacement Medela membranes. I looked at the cheaper off-brand listed on Amazon but decided that I would probably get about 3 months out of a pair and one pack of these would last me until the end of my need to pump for this baby. They work as expected and were priced well.
