However, although they do amplify the sound and make it possible to hear better, they have a tinny sound to them. To be fair though, I only noticed this tinny sound when watching TV. I have not used them yet when in actual live conversations, so may not be that noticeable under those circumstances. Highly recommend insuring they are fully charged before using, as it does seem to improve the quality of sound by being fully charged. Additionally, I was able to wear my reading glasses while wearing one of these and felt no discomfort or interference with wearing glasses. Also, it is very important to insure that you have the correct tip to insure a tight fit. I tried all the tips and found only one that would fit tight enough to insure a good seal and avoid the whistling sound and I had to play with that one a little to get the fit right. Other than these minor details, I found them to be beneficial and a good buy for the money. Would suggest that they only be worn for short periods of time though because of research suggesting that this type of sound amplification may actually do further harm to your hearing if worn for extended periods of time. ### ⭐⭐ Didn't work for me- more likely to damage hearing further *by M***A on Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2019* I had such high hopes for these and tried to make them work, but they were just awful. I have tinnitus in addition to midrange hearing loss.When changing the sound mode on these, even at volume level 1, the in-ear beep is too loud and hurt my ear.These amplify EVERY sound indiscriminately and have an echo similar to that you'd find in an empty room. They helped with watching TV, until the air conditioner kicked on - and then the ac return intake sound was competing with the tv sound.I accidentally dropped something and it sounded like a gunshot in my ear.Finally, in an attempt to make them work for me - I increased the house temperature (to avoid running the AC). Things were going great until my dog started barking right behind me -- which felt like an ice pick piercing through my eardrum.I ended shelling out $500 for a pair of Bose Hearphones which give much better control over which ranges are amplified and you can adjust which direction they listen to while cancelling out the surrounding ambient noise. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Jury is still out! Evaluation to come with longer term experience. *by L***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2019* I've had them for 3 days, so there may be more to discover.1) An annoying, less than a second duration "buzz" occurs when noise cancellation button is pushed - no matter which of the succeeding 3 levels is chosen. When on the first level there is no "buzz", but I can't turn the volume low enough to be comfortable on this "first" or default setting, even though I've turned the volume as close to zero as possible.2) I charged the devices once, and have worn them for 1.5 days so far - they're still going. Will run them until I hear the beep before recharging. The first time charge took about an hour to complete.3) Amplification of sound is not a problem.These devices can give a lot more amplification than I'll ever need. Problem is lowering the volume so that it doesn't feel uncomfortable - and so they don't pick up so much sound that it's irritating. For instance, the swishing of your pants while you walk, the footstep noise generated when you walk - I don't need to hear that. The cat's meow is also very loud with the volume set as low as it will go. Pushing the noise cancellation button will make these sounds acceptable. Remember, the "cyclical buzz" comes with the first push of the noise cancellation button.4) Wearing the devices takes a bit of getting used to, but I think the fit is reasonably quite good. After wearing them for several hours, I hardly notice they are there - very little discomfort from the ear piece in the ear canal.I sent them back. Couldn't stand the cyclical buzz that came with all noise cancellation settings.Now ordering a much more expensive pair to see if they give better results.
