The bottle cap that stays on the plastic portion of the probe is easily removed and replaced. It is only held on by a rubber grommet that is attached to the cap. Be sure to order ph 4 & 10 calibration solution and a bottle of storage solution is a good idea also. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars effective probe length is just the spear tip *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2020* 2020-02-14Bought this because I needed spear tip and ultra long probe to check pH in deep bottles. The "innovative" idea to have a permanently attached cap for a small vial of electrode solution drastically increases the minimum diameter of the probe. Unfortunately, if the bottle mouth is not at least 25 mm diameter, your effective probe length is just the spear tip. Please see my attached photo for dimensions.
