It's only 350W, so when you turn it on it does not dim your lights like a regular space heater. Also no red flare like it shows. **Q: Is it 350W or 500W?** A: mine is a 350w but they do make a 500w unit **Q: Can this be used with a 2 prong adapter in an older home?** A: An older homes electric, should not use adapters, especially since its a heater.
