The signal can pass through walls and doors though the more it must pass through the shorter the distance it can cover will be. You will simply need a free electrical outlet near where the receiver will be and one near the device locations. IR signal transmission is nearly INSTANT with no delay! You can also use multiple wireless repeater kits within the same home! (up to 8 systems!)
