BEME International erod Center-Opening Telescoping Motorized Drapery Rod with Coffee Finish, 40 to 68-Inch

GREAT PRODUCT!!I wanted to purchase electronic drapery rod for our new 5X5 bedroom window...discovered some brands cost more than the new window I just installed..($600...700.oo . I'm not lazy..just like to open the drapes and view the deer who comeout of the woods along with the morning sun arise.I looked on AMAZON.com and found this "BEME" brand..(of course a CHINA impoert..) but nicely built, and works great. The motor can be attached at either end..installed the rod without the enclosed instructions...assemle the wall brackets...mark the position while holding all up on the wall...screw in the center bracket...then lft..rt..your done.The power lead is a fine low voltage nearly invisible thin wire but I tucked it behind the window moulding. The included IF (line of site) controller works well..in fact just aim towards the celling or any near direction and it will open/close the drapes. I also discovered our HARMONY TV/AMP/DVR hand controller model 650 will also control the motor...use 'BEME" and load the Harmony. We have gazillions of remotes about so we always try to condense all in the Harmony...also saves us dozens of batteries from Amazon.A nice unit and nicely finished with a what i believe a powder coat paint process...we ordered the "COFFEE" color..nearly black.I also strongly suggest to order the extra hangers if you dont want your drapes to appear as bed sheets on a rod.The only con would be the slight noise..but for a savings of $700.oo I can easily overlook this.

Did not work at all.one side would hardly work and the other side didn't work at all.not worth the time.

Came damaged but I made it work. I need a couple of replacement parts but there is no place to contact the seller. This is the 3rd one I have purchased. The 1st two were fine.

Just installed this rod over a large 90" wide window frame.As mentioned in another review, I agree that a few more clips would be beneficial to ensure the curtain is held firmly in place, but I would not take a away a star for that. I did purchase an additional center support brace to be sure the bar was firmly in place given the width I was covering. The package arrived quickly, though was missing a few vital parts. A quick email to customer service and rep named Jeremy responded within an hour and within days, I had another package with the parts I required. Despite the order error, the fantastic customer service more than made up for it.UPDATE AFTER ONE YEAR...Still very impressed with this product. Has worked flawlessly now for a year...have not changed the batteries in the remote either. One suggestion I would make to the manufacturer is to add in a remote holder that one can mount on the wall. See my attached photo of the holder I purchased separately on Amazon that is mounted on the wall beside the light switch. Works perfectly for us always knowing where the remote is located. A great purchase that I would make again!

Good product - had it for 6 months. No issues yet. As several reviewers mentioned it, it is a bit noisy.Now, four years later - bought in April 2014. Still love it. Noisy issue - not a problem since you open and close when everyone is up already. Thinking buying more for my living room. If I could only figure how to work it with verticals.

Pleasantly surprised at how good this works. Install wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely keeps the hot sun out of room. Should help in a/c bill. Only thing is that the remote for my fan triggers it from time to time.

Very Happy with the Item. Easy to install about 45 minutes. One of them came with a bad motor. I call the manufacture and the mailed me a new one with out any problems. Best thing that I did.

Rods were easy to install and work great. Shipped pretty fast. We'll be buying more for other parts of our home!
