I like how it's not glossy at all, and it does actually seem to be easier on your eyes. However for this price I wish they could have made the covers sturdier. They're just your typical paperboard - only as strong as your typical takeout box. A thick cardboard backing would be nicer. Fortunately this notebook is staying at home - if I was taking it to school in a backpack I'd have to worry about it being beat up. Cheap binder/looseleaf paper can be shiny and glossy, which strains your eyes whether you notice it or not over a period of time.
