Bowl cozy’s need everything 100% cotton. The metal in the insulbright could damage your microwave. **Q: Is this product good for making kids lunch boxes?** A: Yes it is. I used it to make a lunch bag for my daughter. **Q: If I use this for a canning mat, and want to be able to use either side (two-sided), should I use 2 pieces and put the metalic sides together?** A: Yes, you must have two pieces for it to work. I would put a layer of flannel or fleece in between as well to give the item structure. **Q: Do you also have to use batting with this product?** A: Yes, if you are using it as a potholder. No if you are using it for other projects that will not be subject to very high heat.
