**Q: Is the shade pure white?**
A: Yes.  I love this lamp.  The shade is pure white... so is the base.

**Q: Is the base of the lamp thin as in width or is it pretty sturdy??**
A: It's very sturdy. I have it on my nightstand and often reach for something in the dark and have yet to knock it over. I was hesitant to buy a lamp with a leather covered base but it is well made and looks nice in my bedroom.

**Q: How long is the cord?**
A: The cord is about 6 ft with the switch on it.

**Q: Did anyone purchase the red one? Curious to know what color red it is? Cherry red? or dark red? Anything you can compare it to?**
A: I consider it to be more burgundy than a true dark red color. It's pretty, but I had to send it back because of the color (I wanted a deep dark red).
