Review: Awesome candied banana flavor. - I love the banana flavor! It tastes like candy banana, similar to Banana Laffy Taffy, Banana Runts, or Simply Deserts Banana Pudding Mix. The only downside is that I get sick of the banana flavor after a while - but that’s a “me” issue, not a syrup issue. Highly recommended. In comparison to other Davinci sugar-free syrups, here's my take on the ones I've tried (from best to worst): (1) Chocolate: This is the superior cousin to Torani’s sugar-free chocolate syrup. It’s not perfect, but it has a richness to it that mimics real chocolate (maybe even slightly dark chocolate) and it doesn’t taste overly sweet, chemically, or fake. I buy it on subscription. (2) Banana: See above. (3) Macadamia Nut: I love white macadamia nut cookies, so I had high hopes for this. But both the smell and the taste were insanely disgusting. As in, it tainted the yogurt I put it on so horribly that I immediately threw out both the yogurt and the bottle of syrup. This is by far the worst sugar-free coffee syrup I have ever tried from any brand, beating out the previous holder of that title (Torani Sugar Free Brown Sugar syrup). This one was so bad that I stopped trying new syrup flavors for several months and just stuck with the ones I knew wouldn’t make me gag. Avoid this flavor at all costs.
Review: GAME CHANGER! - I know, it's only chocolate flavored syrup, but if you're like me...IKYK!!! I'll say this right off the bat; I am a private/pastry chef who cringes at thought of not using "real" products - full fat, full sugar = full flavor... *Especially when it comes to chocolate ;) Well, at least that's regarding what I feed other people, haha. For me, I am always looking to reduce my fat, sugar, and carb intake. I am also super super sensitive to "artificial" products, and in terms of this particular item, sugar substitutes. I can pick up even the slightest bit of bitterness, chemical, metallic, what have you, taste/aftertaste. I can't tell how how much money I've spent on sugar substitutes in a desperate search to compensate for the loss of my brown sugar in my coffee 🤗 (monkfruit/alluose blend clear winner btw). Even Stevia - yuk. ...and especially Splenda, which is why I was floored at how good this tastes (sucralose). But as I was looking to get a minimum for free delivery, I came across this at a very cheap price and went for it. *I usually go with Choc Zero (monk fruit)- the "Cupcake flavor" is heaven btw. Anyhoos, as previously stated, game changer. Even straight out of the bottle it's pretty dang good. A lovely (and satisfying) chocolate flavor. Admittedly, a very very slight bitter/metallic taste, albeit, tbh, was not dissimilar to that said bitter/metallic taste you get from cocoa powder. So, all good. *I happened to be drinking a cup of coffee at the time it was delivered, so I threw a bit in it, and yyyyummmmie! It's rather sweet, but I think that's a good thing as the level of sweetness is equal to the level of "chocolate" flavor- meaning you don't need a lot. - at least IMO. It's also water thin (which is expected as there is no ingredient that would add viscosity, eg: corn syrup or sugar), so given the concentrated sweetness/flavor, I recommend putting it in a pourtop bottle like I did. *If you don't have one, try a spent honey or ketchup squeeze bottle, for example (I always save mine, lol). Or... just poke a small hole in the safety seal -sorry if the above seems obvious, you'd be surprised how many times I've heard - "I've never thought of that", haha. Anyhoos, after all that long rambling- I highly recommend this product. Can't wait to try it mixed with my (low fat, no sugar) peanut butter powder and spreading on my favorite "Lewis" zero net carbs avocado & seeds keto bread (shout out); as well as trying the sugar free cherry... Chocolate-cherry morning coffee...or martini, yum!😋, take your pick and indulge guilt free!!!
