One of the biggest improvements over my old one is that they stopped using the laced embroidered logo on the neck area. On my previous balaclava, that logo would constantly rub and irritate my neck, which drove me crazy on longer wear. This new version is smooth and comfortable all the way around. The fit is great, even for my big head, it’s snug without feeling tight, and it doesn’t distort or pull awkwardly when I move. It layers easily under a helmet or hood, too. I also really like how compact it is. When I’m not wearing it, I can just roll it up and stash it in my coat pocket and forget it’s there until I need it.
