Leather is actually leather, if not a bit thin . . . but given the price, the fact that it is leather at all is a win. The wool/felt looks and feels like it should. Actually has 3 compartments which can hold a ton of stuff, but that obviously messes with the neat profile of the case. Only minor thing--and very minor--is that the magnetic snaps do not self-align as well as I would like.
