It will be very cumbersome if your intentions are to use it like this as it will be very awkward. It is designed to be mounted on a solid surface. In the past I bought one out of a luminum that could be pride open so easily. This is the real thing, the shipping was fast and it arrived as described.Installation took about 20 minutes but was definitely worth it. I like the 2 key system, Super secure.I looked everywhere on the Web I could not find a more sturdy Older than this one. A 100 bucks is not cheap but definitely worth it. I would recommend this product.
