It would probably work for a steering wheel , I would be careful about the paint you want to use. If your steering wheel is leather you might be better getting a dye to use. **Q: If I buy this with the refinisher, which one do i apply first?** A: Hi Christian, you apply the adhesive promoter first before you paint. You need to clean the surfaces first with colorbond prep cleaner to get the oils befor you do anything. ColorBond worked good on my dash, door panels and carpet. I had a problem with my leather seat covers It kept cracking and peeling where the leather would stretch when you sit down. I called colorbond and they said to wet sand the leather surface with 1200 grit and try again. I did not do this because that is labor intensive and It was 50/50 it would work, so I just purchased new seat covers. I went from tan to black on a 1972 Corvette. **Q: Do you have to heat it? I dont have a way to heat ? Will it still work ? Any one tried sprat paint with out this?** A: No, you don’t have to heat this! It’s an adhesion promoter to be use prior to applying paint. It gives spray paint something to bond to, hence the word ‘adhesion’ - meaning able to bond. Of course you don’t have to use this product prior to applying spray paint but, I wouldn’t advise it! The key to good adhesion is, to clean the entire area with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. It’s cheap and works great! I use it for everything! Good luck!! **Q: I dont have a way to heat it .
