Each had their pros and cons. This Linsion one looks different than all of them: it looks very modern and ready for space travel, but is it?PROS- Modern, clean design- Lightweight and "just the right size" for grocery shopping (my wife's own words)- One compartment for use as either freezer or fridge- Fast freezing-- After 30 minutes, compartment went from 78F to 43F-- After 60 minutes, it went down to 4F- 2 Energy modes: High and Eco-- High is useful when surrounding temperature is 86F+ (30C). Runs compressor at a higher speed-- Eco mode, although using less energy, can ruin the compressor in the long run-- "Power" LED: HH = Red. Eco = Green- Temperature was roughly consistent during 2 days of continuous use. It was set at -4F, and spot checking throughout the day resulted in between -2F and 0F (in High mode)-- Temperatures will fluctuate slightly more in Eco mode- Auto resume: When power supply is cut off and later restored, appliance continues operation- Two (2) Power options-- 12V or 24V car adapter (draws about 38W or 3.3A on 12V)-- 100-240V AC wall plug (cable NOT included despite what's in the pictures or manual). Refer to the car's owner manualCONS- There is an issue with the Linsion when switched to Fahrenheit display mode:-- After the freezer is turned off and back on, it switches back to Celsius. Furthermore, the Celsius temperature displayed does not match what is actually in the compartment inside--- It does not remember to stay in Fahrenheit-- Product shipped to display temperature in Celsius by default- No built-in LED to help see in the dark- Cannot secure Linsion to car with straps for heavier off-roading- Temperature is off by a few degrees, but I have not yet had a chance to contact the manufacturer how to change the Temperature Compensation values to make up for the variation-- Car freezers' detected vs actual temperature readings being off is normal and can be fixed with setting the Temperature Compensation values- Material appears to be made of hard ABS plastic. Although this makes the freezer LIGHT to carry around, it can also be more prone to damage if you dropped it- Like other car freezers in this price range, requires manual defrosting-- To defrost and remove excess ice, power off the unit and wipe dry, then power back on--- Do not allow a large amount of frost to build up on the inside of the walls as that will make cooling less efficient-- I was not immediately able to find any portable car freezers that have an automatic, self-defrost cycle that "cleans" the freezer from accumulating too much frost- No drain hole at the bottom to let excess or spilled liquid out-- You will have to use a towel to pick up leftover liquid, especially after defrosting- Manual describes the wire basket and AC adapter as being included, but the Amazon description does clearly state that they are not-- Wire basket is not available for purchase- No protective carry bag included- No overload protection with a replaceable fuse- Not waterproof. Longer when idle---- Informal testing found an estimated use of 500-670 Wh/day as a fridge. It was idle much of the time--- About 10-15% of power is lost during conversion from DC (battery) to AC, which is normal for all power stations-- Plugged into DC port: 1002 Wh / Device Wattage--- As short as 25 hours (1002 Wh / 40W). Longer when idleCOOLING EFFICIENCY- Linsion only uses power to reach or maintain the set temperature. The fridge has definitely gone down in performance. It definitely runs more often to maintain the temperature, which eats up more battery power. But from my research, unless you buy a top-of-line Engels, all of these fridges (even Dometics) run down pretty quickly. Even the mid-line fridges ($500+) are known to die in 1-3 years. So my new trick is to purchase big ziploc bags. I buy a big cup of ice from the gas station, double-bag it, and put it on the floor of the fridge. It has really helped the fridge, my food stays dry, and the ice lasts several days. I wish I had done this from the beginning! Defaults to Centigrade and will need to be changed each time the unit is powered up if degrees Fahrenheit are desired. The display temperature is way off, an example: unit set to 0° F, display read +7°, temperature measurement of -8° inside compartment.Not sure if my unit has a faulty controller, but I would be concerned about reliability, if this is used for anything valuable.
