My 7 lb terrier Maltese mix has a blown coat which I have been using the FURminator to help with but it pulls and is very uncomfortable for her. This bamboo brush is very comfortable but too big to be effective. I had been using it on my (long hair) cats as well, as they change their coat for the winter, and even with regular brushing I noticed some matting.
