The halogen bulbs burned so hot that it was miserable to work under them and I realized that I was using 300 watts every time I turned on the light switch. I ordered these because I am a big fan of LED lighting and the price point was less than half of similar lights at the big box stores.The plugged in with no problem and I did not have to worry about keeping the lens free of body oil from my fingers as with the halogens. The beam is wide and bright and I can stand on a stool directly under the lamps and not feel any heat. I know I am not only saving 270 watts for lighting but also saving more energy by not having to run the AC just to keep our small kitchen cool.By the way, other reviews complain about the cool white beam but, in my mind, this is the best color for both kitchens and bath. I probably won't even bother to wait for the other two bulbs to burn out. The new one is much brighter, stays cool, and saves energy. You could literally cook an egg on the old ones...dangerously hot!
