Prior to this purchase, I was using a blender to mix fruits and veggies. The issue with using a blender is that you have to strain the fibrous components from the mixture to yield juice. I felt the price was reasonable to I purchase the Hamilton Beach 67800H Juice Extractor. Assembly was a bit confusing because the directions were not clear enough for me but I eventually figured it out. The juicing part was actually alot of fun (this was my first time juicing myself). I was able to come up with a very yummy carrot-ginger drink. BUT, the clean up is the toughest. I end up having to soak my products in warm water and soap for a long while to get the kale out of the machine. And sometimes I cut myself trying to clean it. The price was good. It is a mess to clean up and that is where, being a novice juice maker, I may just not realize that all juicers are a mess to clean. As you look at the photo, be aware that you will have pulp everywhere inside every nook and cranny of the removable pieces and there are a lot of nooks and crannies.
