That, plus several car accidents, have left me a little stooped over and round-shouldered. I don't remember why I chose this one over others, probably because of the size availability. I read all the directions about not wearing it for long periods right off the bat and not sleeping with it. I think I expected it to be more forceful about pulling my shoulders back and I was skeptical when I first put it on. I had spoken with my pain management doctor about using one and she gave me the go-ahead, but cautioned moderation, suggested combining it with upper body muscle strengthening exercises and not to expect an overnight cure.It was so gentle, I didn't really notice it was there other than that my constant ache began to lessen. I put it on for 1 hour on each of 3 days. I had to set a timer to remind me to take it off. The 4th day, I had to put it aside; my muscles had gone into spasm from being put in their natural, but uncomfortable, position. I'm going back to using it for just 15 minutes a day for a few weeks before going up in 15-minute increments. It took more than a month for me to get this way, I shouldn't expect for it to be 'fixed' in a month, either.For size, I'm a 5'9" 165 lb. female with a 40" upper-rib-cage measurement (under the arms, above the bust). I wear a men's XL shirt and had no problem with fit. It took some contorting at first, but once I was able to get it fastened correctly, I had no difficulties taking it off and getting it back on. It is a bit scratchy so I would definitely recommend wearing something underneath, especially in the sensitive underarm area.
