It is really for medium and large dogs, more even for large dogs. The contacts on the inside are too thick and placed too far apart for a small dog. The unit itself is too large for a small dog. Not sure if they have a much smaller unit size. I also bought a correction spray and that seems to be working well so maybe I won't need to use a bark collar.
