DLCUEL Bookends Kirie - Pair of White Metal with Flower Cutout Pattern, 10" Tall

The bookends were as described and arrived on time. Now, for the most important "test" for any review; immediately upon receiving my first two-pair, I ordered three more pairs.Okay, now, on to the more ticklish aspect: aesthetics. The design is, obviously, Japanese; happily, so, too, appear the fit and finish ... though made in China. I've tossed the packaging, but, as I recall, they may have been made in Taiwan, which has always proved first-rate for me. The paint (white) is perfect in both hue (for my tastes) and application; hmm, think in terms of extreme high-end automobiles.In any event, despite many yards of bookcases, I suspect that I'll be buying more of these for "occasional" volumes. For what it's worth, a pair has no trouble handling several very large volumes. How large? One, specifically, was Taschen's Leonardo by Zöllner ... the others were of comparable proportions. Of course, if the surface upon which you set any "grip-py" bookend is dust laden, there's a fair chance of sliding....

These work perfectly on the somewhat narrow hanging shelves we use in our bedroom to store the books we read to our boys at bedtime. Children's books come in all shapes and sizes, but I feel completely confident in these bookends to hold up the books. They securely hold a mix of floppy paperbacks, board books, and even the oversized books that hang a good amount over the edge of the shelf. These are extremely sturdy and yet still elegant, and they would have no problem keeping regular books or textbooks in place. Such a stylish solution! I highly recommend these!

I got these to hold my many school books that I am constantly pulling out and putting back, they work well to keep them all upright. One complaint I have is that they could be a little thicker/sturdier I tried to slip it under the book at the end when installing and it bent a little, I was able to bend it back. They have made my desk so much nicer to sit at without my books constantly falling, and they are cute!

These are large enough for my bigger books and albums. I have several sets and need more. They don’t take up additional space like chunky bookends do, and space is at a premium in my bookshelves.

I needed a light, strong, and pretty pair of bookends to hold my big medical books in place on my new bookshelves and these were perfect. They don't take up too much space so it enabled me to get all my books up on the shelves. ( i had stacks of books in various places in my room but now they are all in my new bookcase with these unique metal bookends anchoring them.) My furniture is all in antique white and the white bookends look great! I am very happy with this purchase.

Open bookshelves take up less visual space in a room but are useless when the books are smaller than the opening, or on the top shelf if the books are considerably higher than the railing. My bookshelves mainly have heavy, coated-paper art books on them. These bookends work so well, I ordered two more sets. They are heavy enough that the tallest books stay upright on the top shelf and minimal enough that they don't detract from the openness of the bookshelf itself.

Being a teacher and curriculum writer, I have a lot of books and some of them are extremely heavy. I bought these bookends to hold up heavy textbooks that normal bookends have been unable to handle. These are excellent quality! So happy, that I came back and bought three more sets (two in the slightly shorter version)! My library is finally under control with no books falling over!
