I did not have to update my radio. The description says that you need 3.02 version or higher for it to work. Which is incorrect. I only have 3.0 version on my radio all I did was plug it in and it worked perfectly. As soon as I started my truck my radio recognize that my phone is plugged in then went to the CarPlay. The only thing that I could say is for its design of where they place the USB port in these trucks was a pain in the butt to get it to pop out but other than that the install was very easy. It was easy to install and my usb works again connecting to my car. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what it said it would do *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2020* Purchased this piece for a 2016 Ford Expedition. I updated the factory radio with the new Sync 3 software to run Apply CarPlay from iPhone but it would not work with the factory installed USB ports. Research suggested this piece to replace it. Removal was not easy on the Expedition. In order to get the tabs on the original piece to lift to remove I needed to partially disassemble the console. This was because I felt I may scratch it or worse. Maybe not necessary but after fiddling with it for 30 minutes or better this seemed the best choice. But once it was made free switching it out took less than a minute. After plugging in the iPhone it recognized immediately. Part looks exactly like the replaced one and of the same quality build.
