The rear striker chipped off after 4 or 5 strikes. Then the blade stuck into the wood minus the handle 2 minutes after that. It's all in the garbage now. ### ⭐⭐ Pot metal! *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2018* I’ve had this hatchet for about 2 and a half years. In that time I’ve only used it 3 or 4 times. I went out to use it the other day as a wedge to split some bigger logs and the blunt end broke off after about 50 strikes with a hammer. It revealed some very pourous looking pot metal. The sharp edge is still usable but who knows when that will break too. I don’t recommend this hatchet! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/145885222-schrade-scaxe2-11-8in-stainless-steel-small-axe-with-3](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/145885222-schrade-scaxe2-11-8in-stainless-steel-small-axe-with-3) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
