I want to use it to separate 2 colors of rock 2-3" deep** A: It is only 1 1/4" high. If I had realized that, I would not have bought it. **Q: Do you need the connectors for this product like the ones that are included with the other kits by this company?** A: Sand will seep out at the connection, or you can overlap the 2 bars to leave no space between them. It will not look perfect for the bar has some thickness to them, and you will need to pack some soil under the bar that is on top because there will be a space under it if you overlap the bars. Also you will not be able to nail the two bars together because the holes will not align. I can see this being a problem when the overlap occurs on the curvy part of your path. I do not think I have seen connectors for this product, or that I did not look hard enough. I kind of solve that problem by using polymeric sand, hoping that the sand will hold together by itself instead of seeping through the connecting point.
